Day 1: Arrive in Maldives and Travel to Gaafaru Island, Kaafu Atoll

  • Join a Boduberu session, the traditional music of Maldives

Day 2: Big Game Fishing and beach barbecue

  • Big Game Fishing is also known as offshore fishing or blue-water fishing
  • Targeting large fish species which inhabit the deeper waters
  • Includes tuna, barracuda, wahoo, dorado and sailfish
  • Includes heavy duty trolling, jigging, and popping.
  • Jigging and popping are preferred for Giant Trevally, Red Bass, Barracuda, Amberjack, and more.
  • End the day with a barbecue of the day’s catch at the beach

Day 3-5: Pole and Line Fishing(Livebait Fishery)

  • Pole and Line Fishing for tuna is environmentally sustainable and has been practiced for centuries in the Maldives; one hook, one line, one fish at a time
  • Maldive fishermen line at the back of a fishing boat and throw live bait to lure tuna while skilfully catching one fish at a time.
  • Three days on board a masdhoni (Maldivian fishing vessel) to join experienced fisherman to explore pole and line fishing

Day 6: Night Fishing

  • Night fishing is the experience of fishing under the starlit sky.
  • Head to night fishing after dark and take your chance to catch barracuda, snappers, emperors and squirrel fish to name a few

Day 7: Reef Fishing

  • Most typical method of reef fishing in Maldives is bottom fishing with hand lines
  • Techniques may include deep drop jigging, live bait fishing, or fishing with cut bait depending on the species of fish
